Find the name behind an address, and check that the name points back.

Capabilities and processing
Enter up to 20 IP addresses, or a domain to check its own addresses. Our server asks for the PTR record of each address, then looks up each returned name to check it points back to the same address (forward-confirmed reverse DNS).
Missing PTR records, names that do not point back and generic provider names are flagged, with what they mean for a mail server.
Example workflow
The sample mail server’s address has a name that points back. Break it shows a cloud provider’s generic name, a name that resolves elsewhere and an address without a PTR.
Limits and interpretation
The owner of the address block sets the PTR record, usually through the hosting provider. Nothing is stored.
