        Capabilities and processing

Enter a host name or public IP with a port (443 when left out) and choose the regions: Eastern North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific. When you press Ping, our servers in each region resolve the name, then make three TCP connection attempts to its first public address, each limited to 1.5 seconds. No data is sent over the connections.

Each region shows whether the port is open, refused or unanswered, every attempt, and the minimum, average and maximum connect time. A bar chart compares the regions, and addresses the name also resolves to are listed as not tested.

        Example workflow

The sample web server answers from all three regions, fastest from Western Europe. Break it shows a port refused everywhere, a filtered port that never answers, a server reachable only from Europe, lost attempts, a private address and a port out of range.

        Limits and interpretation

This is TCP connect time from each region, not ICMP ping and not the latency from your device. Regions are broad areas, not exact cities, and times exclude the DNS lookup. A timeout is inconclusive: filtering, packet loss or an unavailable service. Private addresses and names that resolve to them are refused. Sample results are fixed. Nothing is stored.
