Capabilities and processing
Enter a Minecraft Java Edition server address, with or without a port. Without a port, our server follows the _minecraft._tcp SRV record first, as the game does. It then asks the server for its status with the Server List Ping protocol from Eastern North America, and shows the result the way the game's server list does: message of the day, players online and maximum, and signal bars from the status ping.
The details list the SRV target, the address and port connected to, the TCP connect and ping times, the reported version and protocol number, and whether the server enforces secure chat. Offline results say whether the server refused, did not answer, or answered with something that is not a Minecraft status.
Example workflow
The sample survival server is online with 37 of 120 players and a 25 ms ping. Break it shows a network found through its SRV record, a full server, an old server that skips the ping, an offline server, a Bedrock address on port 19132 and a private address.
Limits and interpretation
Version, players and message are reported by the server and not verified; joining can still fail on a whitelist, version or authentication. Bedrock Edition servers use UDP and cannot be checked. The check never logs in or joins. Sample answers are fixed. Nothing is stored.
