Capabilities and processing

Enter a page address, or paste its HTML. For an address, our server fetches the page and its share image, so your browser never contacts the site. Pasted HTML is read in your browser, and its image is loaded through our server only when you ask.

The page is shown as a large link card, an X card, a chat unfurl and a search result, using the tags each one reads and in the order it falls back between them. The image's real size is checked, the title and description are cut where search results cut them, and every Open Graph, Twitter card and meta tag found is listed with the previews that use it. Missing tags are written out from the page's own title, description and address.

Example workflow

The sample shop has a full set of Open Graph tags and a 1200 × 630 image, but its X card type is summary, so X shows a small square, and its title and description are longer than search results show. Break it removes the image, makes its address relative, strips every tag but the title, and shows an image that is too small and one that is missing.

Limits and interpretation

Previews are close approximations. Each platform draws its own cards, changes them, and caches what it fetched before, so a change may need a fresh share or the platform's own refresh. Text is cut by character count, close to the pixel widths platforms use. Nothing is stored.
